DENVER, NC (May 17, 2017)-Rookie Tanner Gray looks to check another pro stock national event win off of his list at this weekend's 29th Annual Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties at Heartland Park.

Tanner Gray will premier his new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS first round of qualifying Friday afternoon.

“Jerry Haas builds great race cars,” Tanner Gray says. “Partnering his chassis with the new Chevrolet Camaro SS body that minimizes aerodynamic drag should translate into an increase in competitive performance for our Gray Motorsports team. I’m excited to run it.”

Tanner Gray and company spent Monday, May 15th and Tuesday, May 16, testing at Darlington Dragway located in Hartsville, SC.

"From our efforts made at the test session, I think fans can expect to see a fast race car," Tanner says. " With the ever changing weather conditions in Topeka, qualifying could get interesting, and fans should expect record breaking performances."

This will be the first appearance of the new bodied Camaro, as well as Tanner's first at Heartland Park.

"It is fun getting the opportunity to travel the country and explore new race tracks," the youngest driver to win a national event in NHRA history says. "I look forward to making adjustments due to different conditions."

National event winner and Gray Motorsport driver Shane Gray, will park his ride during this weekend's event to focus on supporting the efforts of son Tanner Gray and teammate Drew Skillman.

The Gray Motorsports Valvoline Chevrolet Camaro SS team will compete this weekend, May 19-21 at the 29th Annual Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties at Heartland Park Topeka.
