COMMERCE, GA- (May 6)- National Event winners, Rookie Tanner Gray and Teammate Shane Gray, will settle family differences first round of eliminations Sunday in the first round of Pro Stock at the 37th Annual Lucas Oil Southern Nationals.

With an abbreviated schedule due to weather on FridaySaturday presented the only two qualifying sessions for the Sunday show. Tanner Gray qualified in the #7 position with an ET of 6.607 seconds at 210.11 mph, while Shane Gray qualified 10th with an ET of 6.628 seconds at 209.23 mph.

“Not having the two additional qualifying sessions this weekend will make eliminations interesting,” Tanner Gray says," Racing my dad 1st round tomorrow here at the Lucas Oil Southern Nationals is not ideal, but I am looking forward to it,” Tanner Gray says, “We are both very competitive. May the best Gray win!”

This will be the first time that Tanner Gray and Shane Gray have lined up side by side in eliminations this season. The two were in the same quad second round at the NHRA Four-wide nationals where Shane advanced, but Tanner lit the red bulb.

“Unfortunately the dice did not roll in our favor, with Tanner (Gray) qualifying 7th and me qualifying 10th, we race each other first round of eliminations tomorrow,” Shane Gray says, “It will not be an easy race for either one of us.”

Both Gray Motorsports Valvoline Chevrolet Camaros will be race ready come Sunday morning with a Gray Motorsports car guaranteed to advance into second round.

"This team has continued to find a way come race day. We missed the opportunity at some extra data with losing Friday qualifying....but so did everyone else. We have the best guys prepping and tuning these cars, if we can do our jobs as drivers I definitely see us being a threat come tomorrow."

Eliminations will begin at 11 am (ET) at Atlanta Dragway. Elimination highlights will air on Fox Sports 1 for three hours beginning at 6pm (ET) May 7.
